This December, we’re joining the gnomes of the Grimblewoods as they prepare to celebrate Longest Gnight on December 21. What better way to spend the festive season than with a little knitting, a charming story, and a mystery project that unfolds one clue at a time?

From December 1–21, you'll receive 21 updates filled with knitting clues, delightful storytelling, special treats, and even recipes for traditional gnomish delights! Some updates will bring the next part of your knitting pattern, while others will let you settle in and enjoy the magic of the Grimblewoods.

And don't worry if you need a little help along the way! Sarah will provide video tutorials for the parts of the pattern where you might need some extra guidance. This mystery knit along is all about joy, creativity, and enjoying the journey. No riddles to solve here, just a knitting adventure waiting to unfold!

How Does a Mystery Knit Along Work?

A mystery knit along (MKAL) is a fun way to knit a project without knowing exactly what the finished piece will look like until the end!

Sarah will release the pattern in a series of clues throughout December. Each clue reveals the next part of your project, so you can knit along with the community as the mystery gradually comes together.

Please note: The knitting pattern is sold separately by Sarah Schira through Ravelry and is not included with your mini skein set. Be sure to purchase the pattern directly from Sarah to receive your knitting clues and updates.

You can join the fun online using the hashtag #GnomeMKAL22 and participate in the Ravelry discussion threads to share your progress, ask questions, and connect with fellow knitters.

Once the knit along wraps up in January, Sarah will combine the clues into a single PDF pattern, making it easy to revisit the complete project.
